Australia migration observatory

Explore official EOI snapshots, compare monthly changes and inspect the sources behind each observation.

SKILLSELECT / ABS

An atlas of changing EOI snapshots.

Choose a month and compare it with another snapshot. Counts describe EOI records in a status, not unique people or invitations issued during that month.

Nominated state / territory

Colour encodes the published count for this slice, not migration friendliness. ANY-state and unspecified records are not assigned to individual states. Boundaries: ABS ASGS 2021, generalised.

Points distribution

Occupation change monitor

Invited occupation cohort · since 2025

These are net changes between EOI status snapshots. They do not measure invitations issued, conversion probability or a state’s preference for an occupation.

PUBLISHED ROUND OUTCOMES

Invitations, separate from EOI stocks.

Only numeric 189 minimum-score entries in official round tables are included. An omitted occupation or N/A is not evidence that an occupation has never been invited. These federal rounds do not describe state 190/491 selection.

OFFICIAL SOURCE WATCH

Policy context, with a traceable source.

Monitoring compares official page content. A change alert is a prompt to read the original, not a verified policy interpretation. Detection time is not the publication or effective date. Failed checks remain visible; no news summaries are invented.

Official snapshots

Monthly, month-end EOI aggregates exported from the published SkillSelect result table. Coverage starts in January 2025. Detailed occupations are selected from numeric 189 minimum scores published in official invitation rounds since 2025; this is not a popularity ranking.

Respect the public granularity

The official table allows at most two optional dimensions. State × occupation, state × points and national occupation × points remain separate. Hidden <20 cells stay hidden; absent cells stay unavailable.

Changes are not invitation flows

Invited stock can increase after a round, but lodgement, expiry, withdrawal and editing also change monthly stocks. Do not interpret a Submitted decrease as an invitation count.

Refresh pipeline and current limits

The refresh pipeline reads the existing official anonymous result table, validates public cells and exports static files. Occupation points are loaded separately when selected. It stops when official table conditions change; it does not query a new underlying count cube or reconstruct suppressed counts.

This page reads validated snapshots. Source-watch status above reports whether cloud scheduling is enabled and when sources were last checked. A successful check does not mean a new monthly dataset has been published. No email delivery is enabled. Policy notes have their own review date and do not represent historical policy for the selected snapshot month.

An independent data-analysis demonstration. This page does not provide individual migration advice, eligibility decisions or forecasts of invitation chances. Policy and invitation publications remain authoritative.
